A new community deserves its own celebration. Entrepreneurs, innovators, artists and business leaders united through the power of mentorship in a space buzzing with ideas, stirring with talent. It’s all about stories that inspire creativity and collaboration, information that empower tomorrow’s talent, and networks that connect ideas with opportunities.

I was blessed by having an invitation to attend The Celebration of Entrepreneurship an event organized by the Dubai based Abraaj Capital outlined the definition of a new Entrepreneurial era in MENASA. It was not an ordinary conference, it was a platform where everybody can play a part, make an impact, learn something new, and make new business.

Celebration of Entrepreneurship

The celebration was structured around three main program tracks:
1- Inspire: by providing a stage presentations last up to 20 minutes where speakers presented ideas, made announcements, and discussed their passions. or by providing Passion Corners which last up to 30 minutes where speakers shared their inspiring stories and ideas. The setting was informal, highly interactive and unencumbered. Open dialogue where welcomed.

2- Empower: by providing ignition workshops and training where peopled who shared a common objective can put together an entrepreneurial project or propose an outcome by the end of the event, or have in-depth discussions and training sessions on issues related to entrepreneurship.

3- Connect: by providing sparks which were a series of short presentations where individuals introduced an idea to the community in an open and completely informal style. The format of the Sparks forces you to really think about what you want to say.

When I first saw the event program I said to myself this is gonna be huge, this is a change that we need in our ecosystem in MENASA. I was thinking to myself how could I follow all those great speakers at the same time? and they got the answer for meby providing a powerful networking device called Spotme that allowed me to keep track of the program, locate people, create my own program agenda, view maps of the venue and participate in the Celebration of Entrepreneurship (CoE) surveys.

One blog post won’t be enough to tell you all about those amazing two days of my life, so stay tuned for my upcoming posts in which I’ll talk about my personal experience and people I’ve met and have the chance to talk to on this celebration.
